RT Autism Awareness Foundation:  Education, Advocacy and Community
1 in 59 children are now diagnosed with autism.  RT Autism Awareness Foundation is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that was founded to support, connect and advocate for children, adults and families who are impacted by autism. Along with the Rochester Police Department and the Olmsted County Sheriff's Office, RTAAF sponsors the Project Lifesaver program.  Vulnerable individuals enrolled in Project Lifesaver  wear a personalized wrist or ankle band that emits a unique tracking signal.  If the individual wanders or goes missing, a search and rescue team responds to the wanderer's last known area and the mobile locator system helps the team locate the individual within a matter of minutes.    RTAAF also hosts and sponsors weekly, monthly and annual educational and social events for local families who are impacted by autism.
